Firm Inception

Firm is founded by TJ Heyman in Boulder, Colorado.

2003
Canada

Woodbourne began investing in Canada.

2007
Private Equity Launch

Jake Herman joined, opened the Toronto office and co-founded the private equity real estate business.

First Manufactured Housing Investment

Initial investment in the manufactured housing sector with a portfolio in New Brunswick.

First Seniors’ Housing Investment

Initial investment in the seniors’ housing sector with a project in Manitoba.

2008
First Self-Storage Investment

Initial investment in the self-storage sector with a portfolio across British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Ontario.

Initial investment in commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS).

First Multifamily Investments

First Multifamily Development

Began construction on first multifamily development in Calgary, Alberta.

Rhapsody Founded

Woodbourne principals founded Rhapsody Property Management Services in a joint venture with one of the largest property managers in the U.S. to bring U.S.-style, active property management to the Canadian residential sector and exclusively manage Woodbourne projects.

First Student Housing Investment

Initial toehold investment in the student housing sector in Toronto, Ontario.

2021
First Small Bay Industrial Investment

Initial investment in the small-bay industrial sector with a portfolio in London, Ontario.

2023
Certified B Corporation

Woodbourne becomes a Certified B Corporation, joining a global community of businesses that meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose.

Rhapsody Property Management Services is a multifamily property management firm in Canada focused on purpose-built, high-quality rental communities.

Headquartered in Toronto, the company was formed to satisfy a growing need for sophisticated residential property management for the new generation of purpose-built rentals in Canada. Rhapsody has a differentiated offering based on the highest levels of resident care and community building to create a premium lifestyle experience for its residents. Leveraging technology and the seasoned leadership team’s deep operational experience in both the U.S. and Canada, we believe Rhapsody’s operating platform brings a new standard to property management.
